Sock Challenge 12/12 - August

I finished my last pair of socks from the monthly sock challenge! This pair's a pattern by cabinfour. I chose Cream because I wanted to practice a bit of Fair Isle knitting again. The main color is Quince & Co. Chickadee in the color Clay and the contrast color is Buckaloo View's Worsted I in the color Cherry Bark.

  1. Congrats on finishing your challenge!! Your socks have been very inspiring to me as I am just venturing into the world of sock knitting. I am going to follow in your footsteps with these socks - the colors are just so perfect together and I have never tried faire isle before so I think it will be a nice safe pattern to start with!

    1. Thanks Sarah! I love the look of Fair isle but haven't mastered it quite yet. A tip that I got from my blog readers to make sure you don't knit the Fair Isle part to tight is to go up a needle size when knitting this part. I troed it for this pair and it helped. Good luck!

  3. These are lovely - great colours and I love the little bit of faire isle. I really want to have a go at knitting socks (I've even got some double pointed needles now) but I'm struggling to find a beginners pattern that I can get my head around!

    1. Hey Annie, thank you for your comment! You should definitely learn knitting sokcs, it was the first thing I learned to knit (except for a ribbed scarf in my teen years😉) why don't you try the fre pattern 'How I make my socks' by Susan B. Anderson on Ravelry? It's a plain vanilla sock pattern. I learned it from watching several Youtube videos and not following a pattern, I do not recommend that, it took me three weeks to knit one sock and ten times ripping it out. Anyhow good luck!
